One family was surprised to come home from a week-long vacation to find a burglar who managed to get himself locked into their garage the entire time they were gone due to a broken garage door. Puppies are adorable. We know this. But what about when they accidentally flood the second floor when you’re not home? Did you know that renter’s insurance even covers damages from ex-girlfriends? Well…not exactly. This one guy kept waking up in the night to the sound of his ex-girlfriend yelling his name. It took firefighters 2 hours to rescue her, as they had to carefully break a large hole in the face of the chimney to extract her.
Apparently, bees can cause quite the destruction. One man was so fascinated by a bee flying around his head that he actually became dizzy watching it. When he stood up, he fell over and ended up putting a dent in his kitchen wall.
There’s nothing worse than coming home from a month-long vacation to a home with no power. One couple came home to just that, and more. The power outage caused their freezer contents to defrost, coagulate, and spill out on the floor. Because of this, their home became infested with scavenging mice.
The next time you make a birthday cake, be sure to store it away from the stove so that it doesn’t burst into flames. Someone’s dog accidentally turned on the stove when reaching for a cake that was sitting on the burners and set the cake on fire.
A cozy night at home might include sitting by a warm fire and watching your favorite movie. Especially if you just purchased a 60-inch flatscreen. Maybe don’t hang it directly above the fireplace, though. This person ended up melting their brand new TV from the heat from the fireplace.
Saunas can be quite relaxing, unless your dishwasher inadvertently turns your kitchen into one. One couple’s dishwasher got stuck on high heat and caused the entire room to get overcome by steam, drenching their kitchen. Thankfully they had added flood insurance to their renter’s insurance policy.
The first thing you do when you realize you have a bug infestation is try to get rid of them as quickly as possible. This person decided to use “bug bombs” that release an insect-exterminating fog. Only he used 32 cans when he only should’ve used 3. His refrigerator created a spark and ignited the cloud of bug gas, setting his home on fire.
The last thing you expect to see when getting ready to use the bathroom is a rattlesnake peeking out of the toilet at you. One family discovered not one, but 23 rattlesnakes under and around their plumbing system.
